Hello. Yes, this is Latoria. I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, and I understand what’s on your mind right now. Hold on. I’m going to spill the beans. Here’s what it is: Because it’s a new year, she’s writing to me again. Let’s see how this year ends. Let’s see how long she can keep this up.
I’m sorry but I’d like to have you as my accountability partner on this journey. For the time being, I’ll publish a blog post twice a month. I’d like to start with that and see how far I can get in the first three months of the year. If it’s a success, you’ll see me in your inbox weekly.
Enough of that. How are you doing? How was the year 2021? Please don’t berate yourself if you feel you haven’t accomplished much in the last year. That’s all right. You have 2022 to do more and better.
2021 was an excellent year for me. I didn’t accomplish much in terms of fitness, career, or financial goals, but I’m grateful for relationships. I’ll write a little about it.
Relationships are important at all stages of our lives. I’m not talking about romantic relationships here, but rather interpersonal relationships. The type of relationship you have with your friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances, neighbors, and even strangers. That type of relationship is required in 2022 if you want to succeed and prosper.
When I think back, I’m grateful for strangers who became friends (I’ve got a few of them), acquaintances, people who are always willing to help, and mentors. I’m thankful because there is someone available to assist me financially, spiritually, morally, and in other ways for every step I take toward becoming better.
Surprisingly, the majority of them are not friends or family. They are simply people I met along the way who are eager to support me because they believe in me and what I do. I honestly don’t take them or anything they do for granted.
So, buddies, in 2022, I want you to go out more, meet people, exchange contacts with them, and take care of yourself because you need to stay healthy to enjoy these relationships. However, to receive assistance, you must be doing something.
What do you have planned for this year? Setting goals or making resolutions isn’t enough. How do you intend to accomplish them? How do you intend to improve your skills? Take out a pen and paper or your device and write down your goals and how you intend to achieve them. This will provide you with a sense of direction.
It’s fine if you’re perplexed. Nobody has it all figured out, buddy. As a result, you can experiment with things that interest you. But don’t be surprised if you fail at some of them. That doesn’t mean you’re not talented. It simply means you should try a different approach, or that what you’re doing isn’t right for you. Choose something else. Reach out to those who have come before you. Inquire.
You cannot achieve greatness on your own. We need one another to survive, so meet trusted people and tell them your plans. Some will agree to assist, while others will not. That’s fine.
Furthermore, it is critical to understand that people are not meant to stay with you until you die. Nah. Some people simply show up when you need them the most, and that’s it; they’ve served their purpose. As a result, you must value them. Appreciate them.
As author Scott Turow stated in his book, The Last Trial, “that is one of the tragedies of aging, appreciating how many good and interesting people have passed by unknown.” Appreciate the people who have helped you in some way now that you can. Life is far too short. Who knows what’s going to happen in the next minute?
Be considerate to those around you. Yes, things are difficult; situations are difficult, but you need to smile more. Wearing a cold face only makes you look older and makes the next person afraid of you. So what’s the point of that expression?
Worry less. Think more. Consider more innovative and creative ways to improve. Don’t give in to fear. Involve God instead, if you are a believer. Request clarity and direction. He’ll assist you. Go out and have some fun if you can.
Welcome to the year 2022. I’ll be back in two weeks. Have a prosperous new year! Enjoy.
